Zumba Fitness with KheShan is a week night work out masquerading as a dance party with pulsating Latino inspired beats and moves. You'll shake, you'll shimmy, you'll smile and you'll sweat. This is the secret to the success of Zumba Fitness- having so much fun learning and performing new dance routines that you don't realise you're enduring a work out.
Instructor KheShan is professional and fun. She has a long history of dance performance and teaching so you know you are in good hands. Her routines and movements are clear and easy to follow. "The first class can be overwhelming with a lot to take in but it gets easier, the most important thing is to keep moving and have fun" advises KheShan. She will encourage you to work hard but at a level you are comfortable with.
A Zumba Fitness class with KheShan is suitable for all fitness levels and ages 13 and over. It begins with a warm up track before the music and movements speed up and soon you will be doing the salsa, merengue and more. Interspersed between the fast paced routines will be some slower tracks with more intense, strengthening movements targeting specific areas such as legs, stomach and arms.
Before you know it, you have burnt some serious calories (many from smiling and laughing) and the class has finished with a cool down and stretching. You will want to do it all over again- and you can as classes are held twice a week.
Zumba Fitness with KheShan is held at Seaford Primary School (Jane Street, Port Noarlunga) on Monday and Wednesday nights at 6.30pm. The school gym is spacious and thankfully air conditioned. So put on your workout clothes, lace up your sneakers, fill up your water bottle (you'll need it!), bring your friends and join the party.
