One of the more eclectic places I have come across is Zoom Carwash in Holland Park West. Is it a) a carwash b) a dog wash or c) a cafe? It is actually d) all of the above. When the girls' school had a Pet Parade, we decided to take our border collie to Zoom for a beauty treatment. Zoom has two do-it-yourself dog washes; stainless steel tubs in enclosed areas. These coin-operated washes cost $1 per minute with a $10 minimum. Ten minutes will give you plenty of time to shampoo, condition, and blow dry your pooch. The air is warm in winter and cool in summer to keep your pet comfortable. A flea treatment is also included. Afterwards, you can treat your dog to a bone shaped bickie from their complimentary biscuit jar. While my husband waited outside with our pristine pooch, I took the girls into the cafe for our own treat. We chose some rocky road to take to the park across the street. As we were waiting for my latte, the girls watched a car coming through the auto wash – to a small child this is terribly exciting.
There are three car wash options at Zoom: auto wash, self serve, and detailing. If you are in a rush, the soft cloth auto wash will clean, buff, and polish your vehicle in less than five minutes. The self serve bays and vacuums provide everything you need to wash your car with eight different cycles, from pre-soak to spot-free rinse. Zoom also has a car detailing service; sit in the air-conditioned cafe with a coffee while the Zoom team cleans your car inside and out. There is also a professional dog groomer on site. Hollywood Dogs provide everything from a basic bath and blow dry to a complete make-over. On a seperate occasion, we took our border collie there for the deluxe treatment: bath, blow dry, full clip, anal glands (ew!), and nails clipped - for $55. For more information, click here .

Zoom has two other carwash and do-it-yourself dog wash locations: Albany Creek and Chermside. However, Holland Park West is the only location with a cafe and professional dog groomer.
