Probably the best pizza I've ever had. I've worked in four pizza restaurants, built my own clay oven, and eaten hundreds, if not thousands of pizza's. But this was it, the best – at Zonzo Restaurant .

Situated at the picturesque Train Trak winery, Zonzo is a specialty pizza restaurant not to be missed. The menu's not overwhelming – featuring 15 traditional pizzas and 3 oil based pizzas. Accompanying them are a range of light starters, salads, a handful of traditional Italian mains and, of course, a sumptuous dessert menu.

We kicked off proceedings with some warm bread from the pizza oven with olive oil and balsamic, along with an assortment of olives and a glass of the Train Trak sav blanc. All fresh and tasty, the combination led nicely into the pièce de résistance - pizza alla salsiccia.

A light, crispy base covered in real purée tomato sauce, spotted with fresh mozzarella, amazing pork and fennel sausage, rosemary and Spanish onion. So good.

Extolling the virtues of the pizza on female company that was quickly losing interest, I thought it prudent to call for the dessert menu, and it didn't disappoint. The chocolate and almond cake served warm with raspberries tasted as good as it looked.

A pretty good coffee to close out the visit and I was very content - highly recommended.

Atmosphere wise, inside the packed restaurant was quite noisy but it sets a jovial weekend mood. In the event it's too loud, you only have to step outside to the quiet of the vineyard where you have the option of long wooden benches.

Bookings essential on weekends.
