Event:
Give women in Need Support and Hope
You are invited to the Zonta Fashion Showcase. Save this date as all proceeds from this event are going towards Anglicare's Home-away-from-homelessness project, which is building a brand new women's hostel in Brisbane to address the acute lack of women's homeless shelters in the Brisbane area.

The showcase is modelling the latest collections from Brisbane designers Sacha Drake, Pi Du Pradal, Julie Tengdhal, and The 400 co. Co-hosts are Cynthia Morton and Lisa Newman. Due to popular demand, all of the high tea seating has been sold out and limited balcony seating is available at $30 per ticket. Balcony seating includes a glass of champagne on arrival, access to exclusive pop up boutiques, silent auctions and raffles, and the showcase Book now.. Doors open at 1.30 for silent auction and raffle prizes and the Fashion Showcase commences at 2.30.

While women make up 60% of all homeless people, there are 10 times more beds for homeless men in Brisbane than for women. Every month Anglicare turns away approximately 150 women from its existing accommodation, an inequity that we aim to turn around.

Carol Birrell: Group Manager, Anglicare Homelessness Services said: It takes a lot of courage for someone who is homeless to reach out for help. And there's nothing more devastating than when we have to turn them away. Do you know how hard it is to tell them 'no' to tell them we simply don't have room? Of course, we refer them to other agencies, and help where we can, but our staff are forced to turn away around 150 women every month. It's just not right.

Enjoy a fun afternoon with a purpose. Help the homeless and helpless women of our community, break the cycle and give women in need the support and hope that can turn their lives around.
