Gruesome Gathering of the Zombie Party Crowd

It's that time of year again, and the countdown begins. If you are a fan of '80's music, and a bigger fan of all things Zombie, this is a night not to be missed!
Saturday 6th of September, the undead will rise and head to the Vanguard in Newtown to relive their prom night from 1986. Okay, that actually isn't what will happen, but a room full of people dressed in 1980's prom attire, but with a twist of zombie will assemble to dance the night away. It's a herd of zombies on the dance floor.
The 'myth' is that the Shermer High School graduating class of 1986 died in a horrible accident, and are returning to finish off their Prom for one night. A prom king and queen are crowned, the music is from way back then and the crowd is enthusiastic and friendly.
We went last year, not entirely sure of what to expect, and our table ended up joining the table next to us, so if nothing else, the Walking Dead are a very friendly party crowd.
The highlight of the evening for me however, is how quickly you normalise everyone's appearance. At first you are checking out all the costumes, as some people have made amazing transformations. Very soon, all that becomes normal, and when you hit the street to go home, it's everyone else who looks weird!
So grab some friends, and some makeup, and dance with the alternative glamour crowd! Last year sold out, so get your tickets now if you don't want to miss the fun. Just don't forget your dancing shoes...
