Lost in a chocolate dream
Few things compare to a woman's (or indeed man's) love of chocolate. Here to sate that food lust is Zoe's Brownies. It is a home based company that flits from market to market and also takes personal orders.
Firstly, let's get straight to the taste. I have consumed an indulgent amount of brownies in my life but few of those brownies shadow Zoe's Brownies. They are oozing with flavour, rich and moist. Personally, I do not believe they are too rich, nevertheless, they may be considered too much for some people with an untrained sweet tooth.
The brownies are currently available in several gourmet flavours with some gluten free options: The Classic Brownie, Salted Caramel Brownie, Nutella Brownie, Caramel Coated Peanut Brownie, Peanut Butter Whip Brownie, Mocha Brownie, Cookies and Cream Brownie, Rocky Road Brownie, Malteser Brownie, M&M Brownie, Turkish Delight Brownie, White Chocolate and Sticky Date Brownie, White Chocolate, Butterscotch and Macadamia Brownie, White Chocolate, Pecan and Maple Brownie, Gluten Free Classic Brownie, Gluten Free Nutella Brownie, Gluten Free Salted Caramel Brownie and the Gluten Free Caramel Coated Peanut Brownie. The most popular flavours are the salted caramel (a personal favourite), peanut butter whip, cookies and cream and the white chocolate, macadamia and butterscotch.
Zoe's Brownies frequents several markets with 15 of her brownie flavours: The Handmade Expo (Morayfield), The Mummytree Market (Morningside), Rock a Buy Boutique Market (Clayfield) and The Billycart Market (Sandgate). The Valori Café in Scarborough also stocks Zoe's Brownies. Private orders can be made through Facebook or email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Alternatively her number is: 0407 167 927. Further information can also be found on her Facebook page.

The owner, Zoe Mathews, married into this family recipe eight years ago but only decided to unleash it on the world last April. She bakes over 1000 brownies every month and they quickly sell out in the markets. To celebrate her company's first birthday (April 27th) three new flavours will be released. Which is really a gift to us. Special Valentine's Day brownies were made this year and Christmas brownies were born last year for a limited time. Be on the lookout for releases of occasion brownies.
Brownies are $2.50 each, 6 for $14, 12 for $24 and any order over a dozen, including wholesale prices, are $2 each. For a private orders the minimum amount of brownies is six per flavour ordered. All brownies are baked fresh to order and 48 hours notice is the minimum requirement. They can either be picked up from her residence in Lawnton or a courier service is available for the greater Brisbane region beginning at $9. If there is a market being held that weekend, personal orders can be made from the market selection with no minimums. The business also does fundraisers for community organisations, day care centres and play groups. Mathews proposes that if you are group or organisation looking for a fun and tasty way to raise money she could do a brownie drive with you.
It is good to treat yourself every now and then (or often) and I for one do not feel guilty at all.
