Zirka Circus presents Zirka Circus in Adelaide at Bonython Park from April 14th until May 1st. This show is a family event and suitable for all ages. This two hour circus spectacular is not to be missed and playing in Adelaide for a limited season of only two weeks. This animal free circus features two hours of exciting dance, spectacular aerials and mesmerising tricks that leave you wanting more.
Be prepared for a chair slacking routine that makes you gasp in amazement while a lady climbs higher into the air and stacks chairs on top of each other, then does a handstand on top of the stack. The couples aerial act was just beautiful to watch; they moved through the air with grace and looked flawless as they held each other in different positions. When the female takes a rope around her neck and the male swings her in the air by it, it makes you gasp but they make it look painless and beautiful.
Standout moments of this circus were the hip hop juggling group, I've never seen anything like this before. They flipped, juggled and danced in unison throughout the track. This group of men created a combination that you wouldn't think would go together and made it look incredible. I loved watching the ring acrobats perform their floor routine. A group of men ran toward a ring piled either three or four rings high and jumped and flipped through it. They did this in groups, each performing a different jump through the ring. This looked great and the audience loved it.
When the lady acrobats took to the floor with an umbrella routine it was beautiful to watch but they went one step further. A child was picked from the audience placed in a large barrel and one acrobat took the barrel into her feet while lying back and turned the child round in the barrel. It was amazing to watch knowing one false move and the child could've fell out, but it done perfectly and the crowd cheered.
Starring Chelsea (Shu Gan), Cherry (Zhang Yu Shurng), Jade (Xio Yu), Kelly (Li Kun Yi), Lili (Ge Xing Ye), Linda (Lei Hrn Xue), Renee (Chri Miro Rui), Howie (Mro Hro Jie), Hugh (Hu Hui), Jerry (Zhou Yong Zhi), Joe (Zhou Jun), Kris (Li Krng), Luke (Du Fei Yong), Rocky (Shi Xurn Xurn), Vee (Chen Bo), Victor (Li Wen Jirng) and Zak (Deng Hro).
The second half was just as amazing as the first, two male performers went behind a box and performed a puppet like routine using one person's legs and arms and the other's body. This presented a very comical version of Gangham Style and some silly ballet moves. These two made a funny duo that the audience really enjoyed watching.
As the show came to a close, they left the best for last with the massive finale. This featured two male performers and a high swinging prop; this trick is called high wheels. The two men each get into one of the two rings and proceed to swing them jumping inside and on top of the ring for the crowds enjoyment. This trick has to be seen to be beleived and is not for the faint hearted.
