Zio Mario's Italian Restaurant is bringing Brisbane a taste of Italy. Located in East Brisbane along Mowbray Terrace, it is a hidden gem for pizza and pasta!

The menu has a wide choice of pizzas, pasta and mains leaving you spoilt for choice. Offering dine in or takeaway, Zio Mario's is perfect for a casual Friday night dinner, or to invite a few friends. BYO for your birthday, catering for parties too.

We ordered a pizza and risotto which were both very big servings for quite a reasonable price. Each were packed with flavour and of a high quality. The menu offers a range of vegetarian meals, and all mains and the risottos (which aren't on the menu) are gluten free, however they do not yet offer GF pizza and pasta.

My favourite part? The dessert cabinet was full of traditional Italian desserts, including tiramisu, canolli and pannacotta. We chose the lemon sorbet and Baci gelato, each a great way to end the evening. The gelato was heavenly with a duel layer of chocolate and hazelnut ice cream rolled in hazelnuts.

Zio Mario's is a great local Italian restaurant that is definitely one to try.
