Embrace and Celebrate Diversity
Cultural diversity is a variety of cultural or ethnic groups within a society. This cultural mix has increased in recent years thereby exposing us to a new fusion of society. Learning to accept people from all different cultures, backgrounds and races for their beautiful uniqueness is a privilege.

Zillmere is one of Brisbane's most diverse, harmonious and creative communities. The 2014 Zillmere Festival transforms into a week long celebration of cultural activities during Cultural Diversity Week - Hosted by Multicultural Development Association (MDA) There is a varied program that includes Indigenous ceremony, market day, street party, art exhibition, street performances, storytelling and sports. The events showcase colour and vibrancy a theme in keeping with diversity.

The festival culminates Saturday 6 September at the Zillmere Train Station Cul de sac. It will be a fun market day filled with colourful street stalls, delicious multicultural food and fantastic cultural performances. The program offers something to satisfy everyone's cultural tastebuds.

Notice the diversity that surrounds us in our daily life and cherish it. Learning to think positively about diversity and to see the beauty in people's differences is one of the best ways to embrace diversity.

Zillmere Festival is presented by MDA, Jabiru Community Youth and Children's Services, Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government as part of Queensland Cultural Diversity Week 2014.
