When you adopt the art of mindfulness into your way of life you implement more gentle techniques for living that will keep you completely in touch with and aware of your present moment. Life will be more peaceful because your inner temperament becomes non-evaluative and non-judgmental.

When mindfulness is applied to your approaches to food it increases your awareness of the process of eating and your interactions with what you are eating. You will begin to pay closer attention to the natural sensations of eating, habits, eating triggers and cues that you have never realised are sitting right there in your world.

While we can understand the basis of the need to eat what is good for us in the right quantity to strengthen our body and mind then why does food often become an ongoing battle for us? Our relationship with the food we consume can leave us overweight, underweight, unhealthy, dealing with a chronic disease or illness, endlessly trying to build muscle or just looking for the energy to escape the couch potato lifestyle. Food, and your relationship with it, can make maintaining a healthy lifestyle a struggle as you deal with your eating triggers, habits and rules.

You can change your relationship with food with the integrative support of a dietitian and clinical psychologist in . This six week program teaches you to cultivate mindfulness and, in doing so, alter your habitual responses to food simply by taking pause. Each session includes information and discussion on the principles of mindfulness and mindful eating, group discussion, practical mindfulness exercises and guided meditations. You will also receive weekly mindful eating challenges to apply and practice at home, as well as complimentary meditation audios.
