Practical skills to reduce your landfill contributions
Interested in reducing your environmental footprint? The Zero Waste Festival 2019 is a day-long event showcasing how individuals, families and communities can live more sustainably.

The festival, held at the St Kilda Town Hall, is the largest of its kind in Australia, with presentations, stalls, workshops, and a clothes swap. Run by the not-for-profit organisation Zero Waste Victoria, the event aims to impart practical knowledge on how to reduce plastic consumption and waste.

The keynote speakers are Lauren and Oberon Carter, who literally wrote the book on how families can reduce the amount of waste they produce.

Keep an eye on the Facebook event page for announcements of more speakers and details as the date draws closer.

Participation in the clothes swap costs $15 per person, while admission is free to all other aspects of the festival. However, donations are encouraged so that the volunteer-organised event can cover its costs. Tickets can be reserved via Eventbrite.
