To celebrate the launch of the 52nd franchise for Zambrero nationwide, Managing Director & Area Developer for Western Australia, Gordon Bain, invited family, friends and media to a VIP party event at the new Willetton restaurant.

Owners of Zambrero Willetton, Beverly & Paul Burgess along with staff hosted a special evening of FREE food and drinks on 2nd July, 2014.

Organised as a lead up to the official opening day, it was to provide staff a taste of the potential onslaught to come.

At 12pm on 3rd July, they would have to be ready to serve up 1,000 FREE burritos made to order on the spot. What a task.

Expectations held high by those in charge saw visions of a long queue of hungry customers extending out the door.

Back to the night itself; first impressions count.

On the outskirts of the Southlands Boulevarde shopping precinct at 47 Burrendah Boulevard, we easily found access to the quick, fresh and delicious Mexican food eatery.

Outside – neon green letters made it easy to see and plenty of parking was available. The restaurant also holds the first drive thru south of the Swan River; definitely a plus for fast, healthy food.

Inside, a lot of eager patrons and energetic conversation filled almost every space. Different eating areas were united by the d้cor and fixtures; casual, yet stylish, modern and industrial.

The most important part, the food and service was outstanding. Everyone involved delivered bountiful, pleasing meals and drinks alongside seamless, continued service until the close.

Perhaps this "aim to please" attitude had something to do with the great vibe and atmosphere that was similarly present. Encompassing what is a Zambrero restaurant. Giving good quality all round.

Matching 'plate for plate' (P4P) each burrito or meal to a person in need. Yes. For each meal purchased, Zambrero donates a plate of food to someone in an impoverished country.

This cause has already helped people in the Americas, Asia and Africa, equipping people in humanitarian aid for millions of meals through the Plate 4 Plate scheme.

Where did the inspiration come from for this amazing, yet 'down-to-earth' concept? From a man who was only 21 at the time, Dr. Sam Prince.

The only negatives for this particular establishment are minor and artificial. If the bi-fold doors are open, you may trip up on the door step and there is only 1 toilet per gender; hardly a consideration though, when the food and people here are so fantastic.

We'll positively be back and are telling all our friends about it.
