One of Australia’s most highly regarded photo-media artists, Anne Zahalka will be showing her work at the ZAHALKAWORLD exhibition, running from 15th August to 19th October 2024 (11am to 5pm) at the National Art School, 156 Forbes Street, Darlinghurst, Sydney.
The exhibition features Anne Zahalka’s works focusing on ideas around culture, society and the environment. Over 100 artworks from 15 different photographic series, including the iconic Resemblance series, Bondi: Playground of the Pacific and the more recent Wild Life series can be seen at the exhibition. Also on display will be the Kunstkammer – a life-size recreation of Zahalka’s house-studio within the gallery space, for which she won the Bowness Prize in 2023.

There are specific gallery programs including an ‘in conversation’ event with Anouska Phizacklea, Director of the Museum of Australian Photography (MAPh) in conversation with artist Anne Zahalka on Saturday 17 August 2024 at 2pm to 3pm (cost $10, NAS students free) and opportunities to speak with the artist herself remotely from her studio in Newtown when you are at her studio at the exhibition at NAS (cost is free).
