Ask any Mum-to-be and she'll tell you that pregnancy isn't all fun and games. Before that little bundle of joy arrives, there are some serious sacrifices to be made. No wine, no soft cheeses, no comfy night's sleep, and no style. (Seriously, it's hard to look glamorous when you're wearing a pair of Nanna pants with an elasticised waist that could fit a freight train!)

[ADVERT]Which is why the in Leederville is such a find. This oasis for expecting mothers was conceived of by Amy Mitchell after experiencing her own disappointment of being turned away from massage when she was pregnant.

She realised Australia was in dire need of its first pregnancy day spa. So combining her passion for pregnancy and pampering, she created Yummy Mummy, a space where women are made to feel fabulous by therapists who understand all the highs and lows of pregnancy.

"Pregnancy is not always a very joyful experience and all of our staff are well aware of that," she says. "So when you come in and are feeling terrible, tired and just want to cry – we will take care of you and help you feel wonderful again."
What can those 'expecting' expect at Yummy Mummy?
Yummy Mummy have a range of spa treatments with delicious names like 'Absolute Heaven', 'Babymoon Package', 'Pure Calm Facial', 'Soul Mama Foot Soak and Scrub', 'Heavenly Legs' and 'Belly Bliss' to make you feel beautiful again.

You can indulge in prenatal massage, pregnancy-safe skin care, waxing and pedicures – for those who haven't seen their toes for quite some time! The massage tables have a baby bump-hole ready-made for buns in the oven and my massage therapist, Lee, made me feel blissfully relaxed.

"All Yummy Mummy treatments have been developed by pregnant women so we know that they feel fantastic and are good for you and your baby," says Amy.

"We've carefully selected products that are safe for women to use while pregnant and breastfeeding – that are as natural as we can possibly get our hands on short of rubbing you with actual flowers and trees."

And once that pea has left the pod, Yummy Mummy also host baby showers. New mums can rent the tranquil space and line up spa treatments with their friends. They can even bring their own decorations, drinks and nibbles to celebrate their gorgeous day, or have the cupcake store next door, The Bent Spoon , cook the buns for them.
