Yum Cha at Eastern Garden Restaurant

My partner, two friends and I decided to sample the
Eastern Garden restaurant on a lazy Sunday morning for brunch. The restaurant is nestled in the heart of
Burnside and there is generous parking at the back.
Upon our arrival, the restaurant was buzzing and packed full of happy customers. You can sit inside or you can choose to sit in the secluded area outside. They also have a large covered pergola area on the western side.
One dish for example will usually come with
three to four pieces (ie: four steamed dumplings). Dishes range in price from around
$7 to $10. This makes it perfect for
sharing and a great excuse to sample many different flavours.
The great thing about
#tabtop ">
Yum Cha is that staff come around at regular intervals with huge trolleys full of enticing dishes from which to choose. You select a dish and they will tick it off your menu list. You pay at the completion of your meal.
My partner and I enjoy seafood and we weren't disappointed by the selection on offer.
If you are not fully satisfied after a few rounds of savoury food the Eastern Garden restaurant has a tempting selection of
desserts on offer, including the popular egg custard tarts, mango pudding and red bean buns. Unfortunately, we were too full so decided to come back another time to try them.
We ended up having a feast for four people, and at $25 each this was great value for money. The Eastern Garden restaurant is an excellent place for brunch on a weekend. And don't worry, I can assure you that you won't have to eat until dinner time!
