Yuki in the Hills is a Japanese restaurant located in Aldgate. This really is a hidden gem as it is rare to find a Japanese restaurant that is not in the CBD. Yuki in the Hills is in a great location on the main road of Aldgate, particularly in autumn/winter where all the trees are wonderful shades of red and orange.
The restaurant is simply decorated with a lot of wood and small pieces of Japanese art. There are large windows at the front of the restaurant and also outdoor seating under a verandah.
Some of the food is prepared by a chef in the centre of the restaurant where you can see different types of raw fish on display.
The menu is quite large and there are many options to choose from. I dined with my partner and we tried the sashimi for two which included Salmon, Tuna, Kingfish, Oysters and Snapper, with pickled ginger and Wasabi. Everything was extremely fresh and really beautifully presented.

I am very keen to return to the restaurant to try some more interesting Japanese food that I haven't tried before. I feel like this is a restaurant best visited in a group, so that you can order a lot of small dishes from the large menu.
You can see more about the restaurant on their Facebook page here.
