Yue Chinese Restaurant on Unley Road specialises in offering a good range of Chinese dishes. The restaurant is quite notable for serving complimentary fried wonton skins, instead of the prawn crackers or peanuts that we typically get at other Chinese restaurants.
We were delighted that the String Bean with Shredded Duck and Chinese Mushrooms had a generous amount of roast duck to impart its savoury flavour to the dish. The string beans also had the right amount of bite to it with the sauce further enhancing the flavour of the dish.

One of the sizzling dishes on the menu, the Sizzling Chicken with Ginger and Shallot had tender chunks of chicken, which were of a generous size, complemented well by the spring onions. It also had just enough ginger to give the dish a gingery flavour without overwhelming the other ingredients.

While we thought the Braised Chilli Beef is a bit of a misnomer as it did not look like the braised dishes that we are used to; the beef was still cooked to perfection with the green beans and celery acting as perfect partners to the beef. The sauce the beef was cooked in had enough chilli to lift the flavour of the beef and yet was mild enough for the dish to be enjoyed by those not used to spicy foods.

The black and white tablecloths and comfy high back chairs gave the restaurant a slightly formal feel and the tables were spaced a good distance apart from each other. A $9.90 lunch special is offered on weekdays. We enjoyed 25% off our total bill by using our Entertainment Book gold card.
