If you travel from Brisbane to the South Burnett area on the D'Aguilar Highway, or vice versa, you will most likely pass the beautiful , where the mysterious Yowie is on show, or at least an image of this creature, which apparently was seen in the area in 1993!!

There are apparently other sightings reported of a Yowie – read here for more information.

The park is quite a popular spot for locals and tourists – not only is there a stunning lake, with the "For Valour Walk", commemorating the folk who fought in the wars (World War I, World War II, Korean, Vietnam and Afghanistan Wars"), but there are places to sit with your picnic lunch (under cover), and the Courthouse Art Gallery, The Craft Cottage and Hall of History are all there, not far from the Kilcoy Visitor Information Centre.

As well, a Yowie Coffee Van is in the park from Thursdays to Sundays from 7 am to 2 pm, so make sure you visit and enjoy the popular Yowie Coffee. For information on the Yowie Coffee Van, visit their Facebook page here.

There is a children's playground and picnic spots as well – with plenty of space for the young ones to run around and burn off steam.

It's not far from Brisbane (just 99 kms away) so a good day trip, or place to stay for a few days – there are plenty of places to stay.
