It's a cold rainy day outside and you have the day off but don't want to leave the comfort of the house. This doesn't mean you have to have a dull day with a world of entertainment at you finger tips.
I will often find myself searching around site's like YouTube in search of entertainment. The content of YouTube is extensive and seems to be increasing more and more, so it can sometimes be hard to find anything useful. But as the content increases so does the quality of the videos, and best of all it's free.
Here is a list of six of my favourite YouTube channels to enjoy on those rainy days.
VICE is a YouTube channel that delivers high quality content, documenting often-controversial subjects from around the globe and some very hard hitting truths. It explores what is happening in the world around us.
The journalists are fearless, the storylines are thought provoking and the themes are often disturbing, centring on war, drugs, racism and the down right bizarre.
Ever wondered what it takes to be a female crime journalist in Mexico? Or heard of the new cult leader who believes he is Jesus? One of the most bizarre stories covered is the interview with a real life cannibal, who under a loophole in the Japanese justice system is able to roam free.
Check out Vice for the best documentaries covering the globe.
Vsauce is a science video blog on the hottest topics and scratch-your-head questions delivered by the very entertaining Michael.
Michael uses interesting scientific analysis to help resolve some of life's most puzzling questions such as, will we ever run out of music? What if everyone jumped at once? What if you were born in space? As well as many more mind blowing facts that will keep you hooked for hours, and sounding super smart to all you friends.
Marble Hornets is an online video series covering the eerie legend of Slender Man, a paranormal phenomenon that has been documented in photo's and video's for decades.
It begins with a college film student deciding to watch back the videos of a friends work who had been showing signs of disturbing behaviours. What he finds is quiet shocking and downright scary. This is a great channel to watch with friends in the dark with the sound up. After the first video you will be hooked as you too will be want to know what is Slender Man?
All Time 10s is a simple yet addictive YouTube channel with short two minute videos of daily top tens on just about every topic. This highly addictive channel is packed full of facts and be ready to learn something new everyday.
