Our younger community members on the Sunshine Coast form an integral part of our community and the organisers of Youth Week are eager to acknowledge the amazing and awesome contributions that have been made by these young people, to the Sunshine Coast Region.

If you and your friends are aged twelve to twenty-five, get ready for a sensational week of skating, scooting, moving and grooving. A variety of fun and inclusive, free events and activities are being held to celebrate Youth Week, which will run from the 11th to the 17th April.

Supported by the Sunshine Coast Council , Youth Week is all about having fun with friends, trying something new and enjoying this year's theme of 'getting out there and being active'. Activities will include a scooter and skate competition plus a free movie night, shopping, dancing and playing at the Kings Beach Youth Fest.

So, what's happening and when?

** & #128761 ; Beerwah Skate and Scooter Jam
When: Tuesday, 11 April, 9.00am to 5.00pm& #8232 ;
Where: Beerwah Skate Park, 32 Sportsground Drive, Beerwah**

All ages can enter the scooter and skate competition at the Beerwah Skate and Scooter Jam , as well as get the opportunity to learn more, with skateboard and scooter lessons. Visit the Beerwah Skate Park from 9.00am and be sure to register for a lesson or to enter the competition.

Free sausage sizzle and Mr Whippy ice cream will be available.

9.00am - Slothy's skateboarding lessons (you must register only 15 spaces available).

10.00am - Rhythm and Flow scooter lessons (you must register only 15 spaces available).

11.00am - Rhythm and Flow scooter competition (12 and under, 17 and under, 25 and under, womens/girls).

2.00pm - Boardstore skate competition (12 and under, 17 and under, 25 and under, womens/girls).

Registration to participate in the competition and for skate lessons is essential. Please register online here for all divisions and lessons.

When: Wednesday, 12 April, 10.00am to 2.00pm& #8232 ;
Where: Kings Beach Amphitheatre, Kings Beach, Caloundra **

A day of fun and heaps of activities to keep everybody entertained is planned for the Kings Beach Youth Fest ! There will be youth markets, yoga, live music, mindful art, a sausage sizzle and so much more, all for free!

** & #127871 ; Movie Night in Beerwah
When: Thursday, 13 April, 4pm – 7pm& #8232 ;
Where: Beerwah Community Hall, 5 Peachester Road, Beerwah **

Pop along for an afternoon of fun at the Movie Night in Beerwah - food and drinks will be provided and of course, a free movie.

Youth Week is a celebration of young people, offering activities across the Coast to get the young motivated and feeling good about themselves, whilst also meeting new people, who share similar passions. The organisers of Youth Week encourage anybody and everybody to 'get out there and be active', with the added bonus of boosting mental health too. Release those 'feel good' endorphins and have a great Youth Week!
