Don't know what to do with the kid's this upcoming holidays? The City of Perth has come up with a holiday program pass that offers not only fantastic discounts but also free entertainment in and around the city.

With free Cat buses that can take you all around the city as well as discounted parking, what better way could there be to spend the holidays but in the city. Your first hour of parking is free at Pier St and His Majesty's CPP car parks when you show your City Playground Pass. 9am – 4pm daily.

You can get the Pass and Guide from the i-City kiosk, City Playground Pass marquee in Murray Street Mall or download a copy here . Free and discounted school holiday activities will be happening from the 22 April – 5 May. By showing your pass around town you will gain access to a host of discounts, freebies and special offers.

The City Playground Guide will show you where your Pass gets you all sorts of goodies from free chocolate, cake and lollies (with purchases) to as much as $15 off ticketed events, alongside a broad range of activities that are completely free.

Perth City Library at 140 William will host free magic and wildlife shows as well as craft workshops. Gamers can join in free workshops at Carillon City, while the Old Perth Fire Station invites you learn how to be a firefighter.

For the adventurous, there's also discounted indoor rock climbing; for the curious, Scitech's Science Fiction Science Future exhibition; and for the creative, workshops at the Art Gallery of WA and free hands-on activities at the State Library of WA.

Stop by the new Raine Square for a playdough sculpting challenge with prizes to win and visit the new amusement parlour there, next door to the food hall where a tasty pizza special is among many food and drink offers exclusive to City Playground Pass holders.

For those who like to picnic and play, head to Northbridge Piazza & SuperScreen for free films including Mothers' Day screenings of The Parent Trap and Nanny McPhee as part of Piazzarama Northbridge - a free monthly family afternoon of entertainment, balloons and face painting, plus Mother's Day gift-making workshops.

Make sure you download your pass to all that is free and discounted in the city this April and May. This is not to be missed for great school holiday entertainment.
