I live in Nambour in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Toe-tapping, side-splitting Transylvanian fun
Frau Blucher and friend
If someone says the words "Frau Blucher", do you make a horse-whinnying noise? If so, you're old enough to remember the hysterically funny Mel Brooks movie Young Frankenstein.
At once a parody of, and homage to old 1930s horror movies, the film even used the original Dr Frankenstein laboratory set from the original. Pretty tough to create on stage, you might think?
No! The backstage elves at the Lind Theatre have been hard at work recreating all kinds of scenic effects and mechanical wizardry for the upcoming production of the musical version of Young Frankenstein.
This is the back - but what does it look like from the front??
Following the original script closely, the musical adds a toe-tapping dimension to the original. Featuring a cast of super-talented musical theatre performers, this show promises to be an unmissable highlight of the Sunshine Coast theatre year.
Dr Frankenstein (pronounced 'Fronkensteen') is welcomed to Transylvania.
