The drive takes you through the districts of You Yangs, Balliang, Anakie, Lara, and onto Little River , and includes some fixed time events, sites and displays along the way. Various locations will be open for public viewing. Other historic pre-1850 sites such as Fords, River Reserves and remnants of buildings from a distant past will only be seen from the roadway or public places. These towns played an important role in the early days of the Port Phillip Settlement.
The tour is set to commence at 9.30am on Saturday 12th May and will cost $20 for adults, $15 for concession holders and children accompanying adults are free. National Trust members are $18 per person. Registration is at the Information Centre Car Park at You Yangs Regional Park. You need to bring your tickets to the Registration Desk where you will be given a tour guide with map and some background notes for your voyage.

You Yangs Regional Park is an expanse of distinguishing granite peaks rising from flat volcanic plains with amazing views to Geelong and further. The park is popular for bushwalkers, picnics, bird watchers or anyone wishing a peaceful day in a rural area. There are also two mountain bike areas covering approximately fifty kilometres of trails, which cater for all age groups and abilities.
This event is a community programme supported by the Wadawurrung and Wyndham City and City of Greater Geelong; only 55 kilometres south-west of Melbourne CBD and 22 kilometres north of Geelong. Access to the park is from the Princess Freeway and from the town of Lara, the route is sign posted so you will not get lost.
