The Yoorala Street Community Garden at The Gap will host a free Cooking Class on Sunday 13 October, 3:00pm til 5:30pm where participants can learn about the many benefits of growing your own food, how to access a plot by joining the garden team and how to eat sustainable healthy food with minimum wastage.
The class will include food that can be found in Yoorala Street Community Garden to cook homemade pizzas with the help of Come and Cook.
Children under 12 must book with an adult. If you miss out on the cooking class vegetarian nachos are available from That Food Truck from 4.30pm
Having opened in 2010, the Yoorala Street Community Garden provides opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, skills, experience, cultural background and income level to grow organic fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers.
Not surprisingly, the garden is located at Yoorala Street The Gap and the event is supported by the Lord Mayor's Community Fund. The leafy suburb of The Gap is 6 kms from the Brisbane CBD. Get inspired to grow and cook fresh produce this October at the Yoorala Street Community Garden Cooking Class.
