Back for its 5th year, Mt Martha's Yoga on the Beach program welcomes locals and holiday makers to connect with themselves and the environment, and was last year noted as a unique Mornington Peninsula wellbeing experience.

Respected peninsula yoga consultant Jan Winslade offers a blissful beach yoga program every Saturday and Sunday morning throughout Summer, right on the seashore at Mt Martha.

Yoga on the Beach is a one hour session right on the sand beside the Mt Martha LifeSaving Club, which begins at 9am every Saturday and Sunday with Jan focusing on relaxation and recharging, as attendees gain more balance and energy to continue their day.

The class follows the Satyananda disciple focusing on meditation, poses and breathing as well as the chance to spot the odd dolphin in the bay!

"We are incredibly lucky to enjoy such a beautiful Port Phillip Bay, and starting our day being more mindfully present while getting sand between our toes is a perfect way to release your pressure points" says Jan, who through her business Yoga by the Bay offers regular classes, workshop retreats and corporate consultations throughout the year.

No prior experience is necessary to join in with Yoga on the Beach, which welcomes beginners as well as experienced students; all levels are welcome.

The cost is $15pp per session; an affordable natural high to start your day. Additionally, if you'd like to take your children along with you, there is no charge for under 12yrs.

What to bring: towel, sunscreen, hat and water bottle.

A well respected yoga consultant, Jan delivers programs through Eliza Business School, Family Life Services, Hummingbird Eco Retreat and Frankston Shire and offers a unique program to high schools helping teenagers with breathing and stress techniques in the lead up to exams. With a well established track record leading yoga sessions at corporate and private events, Jan has over 15 years experience helping people find health and happiness through yoga.
