Get fit whilst enjoying the sunshine
New Year's resolution are being set all over the world at this time of year, potentially one of those resolutions might be to get fitter, stronger and healthier. Well what better way to keep up with this resolution than with a spot of yoga in the park commencing this Sunday the 17th of January at the Edinburg Gardens from 12pm – 1pm.
Yoga in the Park is offered on a 'pay as you feel' basis - inspired by the "lentils as anything" model, which is a fantastic concept and great for beginners if you wanted to experience yoga for the first time this year. 'Yoga in the park' is for all levels of experience, it is for everyone and is a place for you to connect with yourself and your community in the sunshine of the beautiful parks of Melbourne.
The style of yoga that will be on offer is Vinyasa Flow - this style aims to connect breath and movement to create a continuous flow through postures, working on strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and relaxation. Some Yin Yoga poses are mixed in toward the end of the practice which aims to work deeply into the connective tissues of the body through extended holds between 2-7 minutes followed and ending with a deeper meditation practice.
Bring a yoga mat, towel, water bottle, or feel free to practice on the grass! These events will run in conjunction with weekly Acroyoga Jams and all of you are welcome to stay on after the class and jam with the acro community- beginners welcome!
