Yoga classes seem to pop up in the most amazing places and Yoga in the Atrium at The Grounds of Alexandria is another. The difference with this one is that the majority of the proceeds go towards supporting various charities so, you are not only doing something good for yourself, you are also helping others.
Partnering with Sweat for the Good Stuff, these yoga classes will be held in the beautiful - and well heated - Atrium, at a chilly 6.15am on Wednesdays at The Grounds of Alexandria. The Vinyasa Glow style yoga is suited to all levels of Yoga fitness and beginners are welcome.
SFGS will use some of the proceeds from the sessions to support programs and services that draw people out of social isolation, including mental health surf therapy, support services for the homeless, yoga programs for vulnerable communities, research support for suicide prevention; and school programs that smash the stigma around mental illness. All very worthy causes.
4 & 11 October at 6.30 - 7.15pm with more dates to be announced. Click on this link for details as well as other venues where you can "sweat for the good stuff". The cost of the class is $15 and all you need to do is bring your own mat, sweat towel and water bottle.
