Attention Yogis. Now is the time to take your tree pose and turn it into an opportunity to make a positive impact in the world. The
Yoga Aid World Challenge is a 24 hour global event on Sunday 9th September that starts on our side of the world and relays to events happening in more than 20 countries.
In Sydney, join other like-minded people at the Domain, a new space for this year as the popularity of the event has grown. It's an early start at 8am but the folks behind
Future Sound of Yoga will be there to ensure that the anticipated hundreds of yogis are grooving and awake in no time. After a two hour practise with some of Australia's best teachers,
MC Yogi will deliver a special set to celebrate everybody's accomplishments and kick off the day.
Sydneysiders won't be the only ones saluting the sun though. There are a number of events happening right across Australia from Adelaide to Darwin to Perth to Albury down to Hobart. Check out the
events page to see the full list of events happening around the country.
Registration for the day is free and all money raised by participants goes to charity. Charity partners in Australia are
The Black Dog Institute ,
Barnardos and
Nelune Foundation . Whether you choose to raise money individually or as part of a team, the Yoga Aid World Challenge will leave you feeling revived as you normally would after a yoga session but with the added benefit of knowing you've made a difference.
