A chance to compete on your skateboard
YMCA hold some great events for the skateboarding enthusiast. The South Eastern Skateboard series is a regular weekly skateboard competition held at various skateparks throughout the eastern and south eastern suburbs of Melbourne between March and June.

The series features the event categories 12 and under, 16 and under, open male and open female.

Registration for each competition is free and is open approximately 30 minutes prior to the competition starting. Parental permission is required for children under 18 - forms can be downloaded or filled out at the event.

The event format is that each competitor has two x 45 second runs to showcase their tricks and points are given for each run and added together. Rider time starts after you've performed your first trick and there is lots of encouragement given to all.

The competition is great for those with a few tricks up their sleeves and fun to watch those who can really handle their boards through the various ramps at the skate park.

The YMCA South Eastern series is held on the following Saturday afternoons, with one Sunday session, at the venues and dates listed below.

Registrations commence from 1:30pm with further information available here. Note that all competitors must wear a helmet too.
