The Beatles' animated movie Yellow Submarine has been resurrected for the film's 50th anniversary. To celebrate, Orpheum Cinemas is offering tickets for $12. Profits will go to Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Australia , an inspirational, not-for-profit organisation providing clinical music therapy and community music programs.

This $12 screening will be held on Sun 19th Aug, at 3:00 pm.

Yellow Submarine is blast from the 60s and an unmissable cinema event for Beatles' fans, lovers of animated movies and allows a new generation to enter Pepperland.

According to a recent article in The Guardian without Yellow Submarine, 'there would never have been The Simpsons, no Futurama, no South Park, no Toy Story, no Shrek. No animated anything that enables us to laugh at ourselves while being highly entertained.'

This visionary film was designed by the great art director Heinz Edelmann and it is full of psychedelic effects not to mention Beatles quips and antics.

The difference from when you may have seen it last is that it now has glorious surround sound with a groundbreaking animation presented in stunningly-remastered 4K.

The 2012 restoration was in fact painstakingly done by hand, one frame at a time.

To see it on the big screen will an unforgettable experience as the upgrades to the film, include the digital treatment of the music and the animation, have made Yellow Submarine into a much sharper and more engrossing film. The work is a hybrid of music, film and art.

Yellow Submarine tells the story of how The Beatles battle the music-hating Blue Meanies armed with the power of love.

Enjoy some of the Beatles most loved classics including 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds', 'Nowhere Man', 'Eleanor Rigby' and 'All You Need Is Love'.

Join with John, Paul, George and Ringo on the Technicolour adventure of your lifetime. While the film is in psychedelic cartoon format, The Beatles appear in the live-action final scene.

And the songs are pretty good, too. They are more than slightly remembered no matter what age you are. Cos, 'All you need is love. Love is all you need.'
