A custom made fire pit is used to BBQ meats and vegetables at Piggs Peake winery.
Yellow Billy Restaurant provides sensational flavours with a touch of theatre. Friendly staff and a lovely relaxed setting combined with delicious tasting fresh food make for a very pleasant Hunter Valley dining experience.
The
menu is not large but changes regularly depending on the availability of fresh produce. Rather than an entree, main and dessert it is divided into 'snacks', 'sides', 'from the fire pit' and 'after thought' and all the dishes are designed to share. The retro crockery was sourced from local opportunity shops and the lack of pretension gives
Yellow Billy a happy relaxed lunchtime vibe.
As we were unable to decide what to order, we chose to share the banquet menu which consisted of three 'snacks', two sides, two 'fire pit' cooked meats and a dessert. The meal was delicious and full of interesting flavours that complemented each other. There was more than enough food and we were not rushed at all, we also had the option of changing some of the dishes but we were more than happy with the chef's choice.
Yellow Billy Restaurant also provides various catering options for
functions utilising Piggs Peake Winery as well as the restaurant space. Newly opened (11 August 2018) at the time of writing, they were operating on a BYO alcohol basis whilst awaiting a liquor license.
We aim to return soon with family and friends so that we can sample more of the menu.
