True blue Aussies eat Yatala meat pies
Famous for its pies, this iconic spot used to be on the Highway to the Gold Coast and there was always a queue in the early evening as families made their way home from the coast when mum was too tired to cook.
Iconic Yatala Pies.
[ADVERT]With the advent of the Gold Coast Highway, many people thought that would be the end of the Yatala Pie Shop, but no, they are still going strong. In fact they have moved to much larger premises and are selling more pies than ever. Their range has also expanded. There is a great range of all the old favourites - steak and bacon, mushroom, kidney, chicken and veggie, and curry steak. Also are available is the 'Tradie' which is filled with steak, bacon, cheese, tomato and egg. Wow. It is only available in the individual pie. I like the sound of lamb coconut curry.
Vegetarian options are spinach and feta triangle and cauliflower, broccoli and cheese triangle, and hot chips.
There are also fruit pies, apple, apricot, caramel, apple and custard and berry, as well as Pavlova and apple turnovers.
