Is Your Kid the Next Baz Luhrmann or Jane Campion?
If you live or study in the Yarraville area, are between five and 21 years old and have a penchant for film making, here's your chance to walk the red carpet and feature in Yarraville Festival's opening event, the Yarraville FlikFest.
Are you enticed by the idea of a thriller, haunted at the thought of a horror or inspired to create a documentary? The genre is open to your imagination, the medium completely up to you and there's some great film making prizes to be won, not to mention the accolade and acclaim of taking home FlikFest fame.
So what are you waiting for? Lights, camera, action! This is your chance to share your flair for film making with the world, bask in the glow of the limelight and be recognised as an up-and-coming filmmaker. Set your creativity free and submit your short film of 10 minutes or less, preferably featuring Yarraville in some way, by 5pm Thursday 5 February 2015.
Yarraville's majestic Sun Theatre will once again host FlikFest this year.
Filmmakers and their special guests will be welcomed with a red carpet entrance, a special BBQ presented by the Rotary Club and performances from the Yarraville West Junior School Choir singing in the People's Park in front of the cinema.
All FlikFest entries will be screened in the Sun Theatre's grand cinema.
Now in it's 34th year, Yarraville Festival will be held on Sunday 15 February, with market stalls, rides and entertainment, including live performances across seven stages, the Yarraville Community Garden's Harvest Swap where you can exchange your excess home grown goodies for others, and lots of family friendly fun right in the heart of Yarraville Village - Anderson and Ballarat Streets, Yarraville.
Yarraville FlikFest is the lead in event for Yarraville Festival 2015.
Why? Yarraville FlikFest is a film making festival for kids aged 5 - 21 who live or study in the Yarraville area. Entries are screened at the Sun Theatre, Yarraville and there's some great film making prizes up for grabs..
