It's going to be FREE ENTRY to Yarraville's largest festival on Sunday 15 February 2015 from 10am to 6pm at the Yarraville Village in Anderson street, Yarraville. If you're a stall holder or a band, applications have now closed for this 2015 festival. Celebrating its 34th year, Yarraville is about to show us everything that is special about its community. There are going to be 7 stages of entertainment, clowns, market stalls, food, balloons, face painting, amusement rides, live performers and a whole kingdom just for kids.

Five days earlier on the 10th of February 2015, we see the return of the local children's film making festival 'Flik Fest'. The I Heart Fashion Parade that is a fundraiser is on the 11th of February 2015. See all details below where I've tried to place things in chronological order for your convenience.

Phoenix All Ages is the Freeza committee that works behind the scenes to bring all ages live music to Phoenix Youth Centre . They will have a youth stage featuring lots of local bands and hip hop performances at the Festival. There will also be a chill-out and bbq area with a fantastic youth market (youth market applications have closed) happening at the same time. Keep an eye on their Event Page for full band line-up and market and activity details to be announced (January 2015) this month.

The Mandala Tree (16 Hall street, Yarraville; [email protected]) are offering Yarraville Festival lovers FREE yoga classes during their open week from 25 to 31 January 2015. This way you can try something new for free and get a free mini angel card reading as well. You can view the full timetable on their website , and you still need to book these freebies as they need to work out numbers. LIKE their Facebook page or JOIN the EVENT PAGE to watch out for current updates on this exciting complimentary offer. If other 'paid' courses outside the freebies as mentioned above interest you, you must register your interest HERE . Courses, Immersions, Workshops and Events are scheduled in response to demands and you will be informed when the course you've registered for is confirmed. As mentioned, there is a cost attached to anything outside the freebie offer.

This years Film Festival theme is 'Made Near Me'. As proud as we are about locally made or locally produced things, the changing economy threatens our local businesses at the same time. Here is an opportunity for you to represent your community via film by exploring things that are made in and around Yarraville. It could be about locally grown produce, about a small manufacturer or big employer, a craftsman or artisan.

There are two divisions for this contest. Primary School and Older. To enter, you have to be 21 years and UNDER, the film has to be 'G' rated and under 10 minutes long. Get your film in NOW as ENTRIES CLOSE 15th JANUARY 2015. IMPORTANT: A hard copy of your work on a DVD or USB may be required. You will receive an email from the Flik Fest team AFTER submission if this is necessary for your film. CLICK HERE to submit your film to have it shown on the big screen at the Sun Theatre (8 Ballarat Street, Yarraville (03) 9362 0999) on the 10th of February 2015.
