is another outdoor attraction accessible via Alexandrina Drive and in close proximity to Stirling Park , Lotus Bay and Weston Park. The Bay was designed in conjunction with the broader design plans for Lake Burley-Griffin in the sixties to be used as an area for water based recreation - swimming, bathing and boating.

is now a popular destination for interacting with the birdlife which frequents the area. To be seen in the Bay are usually some combination of seagulls, ducks, swans and even pelicans. These birds have become accustomed to being fed and will as such be unusually friendly.

Visitors may still swim in the area but look out for warnings of blue-green algae and bacteria which will advise people to steer clear of the water. Also take note of any sewage leak warnings, as these have unfortunately occurred in the past.

There are not so many picnic facilities available, with more of a beach feel to the Bay. However, visitors are encouraged to pack their own lunch and/or use as a stopover in a ride around the Lake. It's a beautiful area with diverse treelife and is definitely worth a look.
