With school holidays upon us, we, as parents, are trying our best and worst to get our babies and I am - not - a - baby away from technology. Every term we rake our brains at what to do, what new, interesting idea we can come up with to succeed in our battle with virtual reality.

My solution is to DRIVE. I get my daughter in the car and drive. Hopefully, I can find a place where Wi-Fi is non-existent or so bad it is not worth it to find it. Also, we drive to new places, places we love. We look for events that we have never been to and try to get there.

This year we will try to get to Yarragon for their annual . The fair will take place at Yarragon Public Hall, Campbell Street, Yarragon on 7 and 8 July with doors opening at 9 am both days.

The Fair is supporting local fire brigade and primary school. All books donated are brand new and priced very cheaply. Entry is by gold coin donation.

If you are coming from Melbourne, you might as well make it a day trip. There are plenty of places to eat on the main street, our favourite being Gippsland Food and Wine .

Also, you might stop by Old Gippstown to get a glimpse at the history of the area.
