Don't reap what you sew, wear it
For eighteen years, you have been able to buy all your wool, craft and fabrics at this shop in Wandin North. A name change about five years ago to Yarra Valley Quilt Yarn & Sew saw a change in direction of services offered.

Easy to find.

As soon as you walk into the shop, you are immediately aware that you are in the right place if you want to quilt, knit, crochet, patchwork and dress make.

Particularly prominent is the huge range of colourful bolts (I think that's the term for rolls of fabric) of material.

I wonder where Howard's shirt material came from?

Quilt. Quilting is the process of sewing two or more layers of fabric together to make a thicker padded material, usually to create a quilt or quilted garment. Typically, quilting is done with three layers: the top fabric or quilt top, batting or insulating material and backing material.

Yarn. Spun thread used for knitting, weaving, or sewing. Although I suspect different yarns are exchanged when a group gets together.

Wool and more wool.

Sew. Join, fasten, or repair (something) by making stitches with a needle and thread or a sewing machine.

Rolls and rolls of ribbons.

Knitting and crocheting are both done by hand using the appropriate needles, all of which are available in many sizes for all jobs.

embroidery cotton
Embroidery cottons.

Janome, Pfaff, Husqvarna, Baby Lock and Handi Quilter may not be everyday names to most of us, but to the dedicated quilter, yarner or sewer, they are brands of machines to help them create.

All are in stock and servicing and repairs are always available. Repairs may not be common, but regular servicing will prevent them becoming necessary.

A big bonus at Yarra Valley Quilt, Yarn & Sew is if you don't know how, they will teach you. Regular classes are held on the premises for small groups, guaranteeing individual attention to assist you in learning or improving your chosen craft.

Knowledgeable assistant Deb says their customers are not just locals but come from all areas of Melbourne.

If you want to quilt, yarn, sew or more, you can find all you need to do all of them here.
