In the tiny little town of Coldstream, there is a hydroponic growing centre which has become famous for its vegetables and more recently the " U-Pick Strawberries ". If you are looking for something to do with the kids on the weekend, it could be strawberry picking time at Yarra Valley Gateway Estate.



Unlike other places, there is no entry fee. You simply pay for what you have picked. Their prices are very reasonable and your children get to take home the strawberries they have personally collected.

Attached to the hydroponic farm is a lovely little cafe where they have made quite a famous strawberry liqueur and strawberry port. Perfect for gift giving indulgence.



If you are looking for something special as a Christmas gift for someone, especially those a little hard to please, the spirits might be just the ticket. They come beautifully bottled and ready for presenting.



However, if you would like to take lunch, morning or afternoon tea here, there is a sweet little cafe which has lots of decadent delights to tempt you.

They have special items that are sure to delight the little ones also.



Attached to the front of the cafe is a gourmet and fresh produce supplies store, so you can do your grocery shopping whilst you are collecting special treats and gifts for yourself, friends and family.
