This is definitely an 'up-market' market. Everything is of the highest quality, from food cooked before your eyes, freshly grown produce, crafts by artisans and quality entertainment.

If you are early, you can park onsite among an apple orchard which quickly fills up. There is also ample parking on St. Huberts Road. The advantage of road parking is that you have a picturesque walk into the market along a tree-lined avenue. There is always disabled parking on site.

The tented stalls are neatly arranged along this avenue. I would suggest on arrival you take a leisurely wander past the stalls, taking in the ambience before a few return wanderings taking in all the products offered.

Your first stop may be Yarra Coffee, specialty coffee roaster for your morning coffee fix.

You may then find a table and chair to enjoy your coffee with a doughnut or a cookie from Yarra Valley Cookies, where cookie maker Carla displays her cookies.

While sitting this area, the air is filled with the gentle music of the Black Kites. I have heard this group play and sing over several years at different markets and their music is always a joy to hear.

Now is the time to inspect the work of local artisans. Most impressive is the timber products from AQ Unique Hardwood Creations. Each piece is carefully designed and created in their Three Bridges workshop. You can buy something to sit on, hang your coat on or cut up your food on.

Equally impressive is the large range of pottery from Arnaud Barraud. All the items are visually attractive and practical. Arnaud is always there to discuss his works.

I am always pleased when visiting Sunday markets to find a new or unique product. At Punt Road is was Banks Botanicals, alcohol-free mixers. It was explained to me that Banks Botanicals is a distilled organic, non-alcoholic spirit that uses Australian Botanicals and made in the Yarra Valley.

By this time, the 'hungries' may have hit. Here you have plenty of choice. An artisan crepe, freshly cooked would be a nice start.

Lady Paella offers freshly cooked paella from an authentic rustic Spanish kitchen. They certainly looked appetising.

Lunars Eatery offers something completely different. Only two items on today's menu and they do look tasty. This would be the happiest stall at the market judging by the smiling staff.

After all this food, a dessert may be tempting in the form of a choice of six flavours of plant-based ice crème from Super Seed.

When it is time to head home some takeaway items will be in order. Fresh vegetables from Farm Fresh, if they have any left as it is a popular stall.

Something for your health can be had from Australian Harvest Fine Foods which offer many Bio-Grape products among other healthy choices.

It's a wonderful market in a beautiful setting after a country drive to get there.
