Melbourne is famous for a number of great things but two at the top of the list are our iconic trams and exceptional coffee. When it comes to coffee we practically mainline the stuff.

So it comes as little surprise that our two passions have collided at the tram stop. Where you can now get your fix.

Not at a coffee shop across the road or a nearby coffee cart but actually in the centre of the road at the tram stop. These tiny affixed coffee stands are an initiative by Press Coffee.

But despite the name you don't have to press any buttons or feed in coins.

There is a barrista on hand to make up Melburnians ever increasingly complicated orders.

"A skinny cappuccino with one and quarter sugars and extra hot please." "Long black double who with a tiny dash of milk. Duh!"

One of the beauties of having these coffee outlets at our tram stops is that a couple of stops before you arrive you can preorder your coffee so it is ready and waiting for you. You do this through a new app called BEAT THE Q .

If you do this on the 13th and the 24th of November they even have a special promotion where for $0.01 (yes that is ONE CENT) you can get any coffee, tea or hot chocolate for that minuscule price. It is only on Monday and Tuesday as long as your order through the app. Look out for more promotions in the future.

A great start to the budgetary week and a cure for Mondayitis. And the cost is the same no matter how many coffees you order or how many times you use the app in those 2 days.

Great to have a coffee waiting for you with your name on it. Might as well get coffee for the whole office while you are at it.

And even when the deal expires this is a great way to pick up a coffee and save time in the morning. Worth making this part of your morning routine.

You will find these coffee tram stops at Swanston/Flinders Street
Melbourne University and Domain Interchange. They serve fabulous St Ali locally roasted coffee.

As someone tweeted. "How is it we can have a coffee cart at Domain Interchange, but no Myki machine?"I guess our love of coffee moves a lot faster than our transport system.
