The Craft-Markets Australia have been bringing high quality makers markets to picturesque locations across Victoria since 1975. It all began as four couples were at a dinner party and envisaged creating a market for local people to sell or barter their seasonal produce as well as providing an outlet for local craftspeople and food outlets. Their first market was in Red Hill in the Mornington Peninsula Hinterland. Over the next forty years, the markets have grown and are now spread across to other locations. Everything sold at the markets must be fresh and of good value, handmade and above all high standard of quality.
The Yarra Glenn Racecourse Markets are held on the first Sunday of each month, except from September to June and excluding January of each year. As Christmas is nearing, there will be two markets before the festive season. These are the usual Sunday Market on 2nd December from 9.00am to 2.00pm and a Twilight Market on Saturday 8th December 2018 from 3.00 to 8.00pm. Dates for 2019 can be located on their website
Whether you are looking for a unique gift for something special for yourself, you will find this market to be home to the freshest gourmet foods and produce as amazingly different hand-made items. Take a drive to the Racecourse Markets and after shopping, sit back and listen to the free live music, while enjoying refreshments. Shoppers can also purchase insulated CMA shopping bags to store their goods.

Yarra Glen was first settled by the Ryrie Brothers in 1837 after they established a 17,000 hectare Yering Run. The brothers planted the first grape vines in the valley in 1838 and produced their first wine in 1845. Yarra Glen is well known for some of the country's best-known wineries and a great place to escape from the city for a weekend.
