The Yankalilla Show is back for 2016! This country event has long been a favourite for families and couples. 2016 marks the 134th time the show has gone ahead. Entry is very cheap considering the amount of fun on offer. Adult tickets are $10, seniors are $5, children under 15 are $5, and children under 5 are free! It is certainly a cheap way for families to spend their Saturday.
There is set to be so much going on at the Yankalilla Show that you might not know where to start. The organisers have made certain that there will be entertainment for people of all types and ages. Some of the highlights of the show include: SciWorld Spectacular, Clancy the Jelly Bean Train, Farmer Joe's balloons, Don's Demo Dogs, Yalkin Spanish Horses, and the animal nursery.
A wide range of indoor exhibitions will be on show throughout the day, including: flowers, photography, needlework, cookery, painting, and handicrafts. This could be an opportunity for children to learn about different expertise and get them interested in the creative arts.
Of course, it wouldn't be a show if there wasn't delicious food and drink for sale. It has been promised that there will be "country hospitality" - meaning all you have to is relax and enjoy. Unlike many other shows, the Yankalilla Show is dedicated to having reasonably priced homemade food.
The 2016 show falls on the October Labour Day long weekend, so it could be an idea to spend the entire weekend down at the Fleurieu Peninsula. Some accommodation is still available at Stayz, but you will need to be fast to ensure you don't miss out.
