A great little Chinese restaurant
There are so many incredible Asian restaurants and take away places in Melbourne that we are really spoilt for choice. Driving down Box Hill, Glen Waverley and Springvale on a Friday or Saturday night involves extensive strategic parking moves and high levels of patience, but a drive to Centre Road, Clayton, to Yang's Dumpling is a lot more achievable, less stressful and one definitely worth taking!

Yang's Dumpling could easily be missed driving down Centre Road. It's a little restaurant that is positioned on Centre Road just past Clayton Road and closer to Huntingdale Road, at number 1200, right next to an amazing cake shop called Dolce Fantasia. The food at Yang's Dumpling is simply delicious and the portions are quite substantial. The food is Northeast Chinese cuisine, with a large selection of dumplings and steamed buns. The custard buns are amazing.
Salt and Pepper Calamari, Yang's Dumpling

I've dined there a few times, but last night I had the most delicious salt and pepper calamari (see photo). The dumplings are great, but I would have to say that their vegetable dishes are my favourite. Incredible dishes like Deep fried potato, eggplant and green capsicum, and Stir fried eggplant with spicy sauce.
Vegetarian dumplings, Yang's Dumpling

The menu consists of dishes like Bamboo steamed Beef and onion dumpling, Prawn and chives dumpling, Twice cooked pork with capsicum, and XinJiang style fried lamb wrapped with thin pancake.

The ambience is lovely. It's very quiet on account of the location, and the decor is probably more suited for a café, however it is very pleasant, very clean, the food is very fresh and delicious, and the service is great! It's open from 12pm to 10pm every day except Tuesdays. They also have a take away menu.

A good head's up. Box Hill and Glen Waverley have some great eateries but as you say, parking is often a challenge, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Good to know Thank you. I am always blinded by the fantastic Dolce Fantasia. I can also recommend the All Seasons Dumpling Restaurant at 39 Portman St Oakleigh and a new dumpling shop in Bentleigh right next to Aldie.(South Delicious Dumpling Shop 1 285-305 Centre Road on the corner of Oak St) Try the sticky rice dumplings I have never had dumplings as nice and interesting as that. I love Coconut House on Warrigal Road 30/477. Opposite Bunnings it is run by Alan and the team formerly at Katroya, I have one dish that I cannot do without Coconut Prawns. So I hope you get the opportunity to try these places out cheers Janine
