Situated about halfway between Yallingup and Dunsborough in Western Australia's South West is the quaint . On the same property as Bush Shack Brewery, Om Spa and Yallingup Forest Resort, the is advertised as an adults only retreat, with only a small number of rooms, each with its own secluded 2 person outdoor jacuzzi. There is also free wifi for guests to enjoy, and who doesn't love that.



Unfortunately the arrival of my new husband and myself wasn't a very nice one. We arrived shortly after the check-in time of 2pm to an empty reception and despite hearing a staff member nearby, weren't attended to until after ringing the bell 4 times, attempting to call the office number and finally knocking on a door marked Staff Only.



When we walked into our room, the Semillon (all the rooms are named after types of wine), we were greeted by a rush of cool air from the overhead fan and a very well stocked mini bar (which we didn't partake of). The mattress on the bed was a firm one, but not too firm, which is a nice change from many hotel beds I've slept on in the past, with a very warm doona (not needed in summer). If you are staying in winter though, there is a gas heater that you can turn on, and an electric blanket in one of the drawers.



Overall our stay was quite nice, helped by it not being very busy, but on the whole I think the hotel is a little overpriced for it being just a room. If breakfast had been included it would have made it better value for money. But if you are wanting to spoil yourself for a night, then the may be the indulgence you're looking for.
