If you're in the Wodonga / Albury area, and you're looking for a great home cooked meal, you can't go past the Star Hotel in Yackandandah.
Yackandandah is approximately 30 minutes drive from Wodonga. It's a really pretty little village, close to the foothills of the Stanley State Forest. It is surrounded by lush vegetation and has a rich heritage history.

I spend a bit of time in Wodonga visiting my sister. We usually head out to see some of the beautiful scenery and towns around Wodonga. In December 2014 (last year) we headed to Yackandandah, had a stroll up and down the street, and ended up having lunch at the Star Hotel.

The whole town is quaint and very olde worlde. There are a few antique shops, a gallery where locals sell their art work, and more.
So we headed over to the township of "Yack" as the locals call it. We quenched our thirst over a few cold beers, and then we ordered lunch at the Star Hotel.
There was a large menu, and we were spoilt for choice. I've included a few food photos with this article, however I really can't remember the names of the meals.
The pub is very old and quaint too, like most of the buildings in the town. It has tables and chairs out the front on the footpath, a large dining area, and tables and chairs in an area off the bar area. There is a long bar, a pool table, an outdoor beer garden out the back, and the longest corridor I have ever seen in a small hotel.

If you like good wholesome food, great service from a friendly barman, and eating "Al fresco" then try the Star Hotel. My sister and her partner have been there a few times and they enjoy the hospitality and great food.
