Free fun fitness at South Bank - Get in before it finishes
Who doesn't love a free event in South Bank Parklands?
Make you way over to South Bank this February for free Xango Capoeira classes.
Capoeira is a form of martial arts and self defence mixed with dance that originated in Brazil in the 16th century. The mainly West African slaves devised the practice to hide the fact they were doing martial arts, which was of course outlawed for the slave population. The mix of dance, acrobatics and martial arts uses power, fast moves, kicking and spinning.
The free classes are every Saturday beginning on 23 January and continuing on 30 January, 6 February, 13 February and 20 February 2016. They start at 10am and are held on the Little Stanley Street Lawn.
Note these classes are adults only. Bookings are not required.
Hosted by Xango Capoeira Brisbane take advantage of the last weeks of Summer and come along to the South Bank Parklands to have a go yourself at this traditional form of martial arts.
