This is the story of Barry. He is awoken one morning with a call from his sister about strange happenings. This is the last peaceful morning he's going to have with his wife and daughter. There is something in the air and from that moment on everything is changed. His mission is to find his sister Brooke.

This is a full-on Aussie Zombie flick. This film is not interested in the beginning or the ending. It is on-going. It's not interested in developing the characters in-depth. They are as you find them. As soon as I saw the trailer I immediately tasted the Australian flavour and could not wait to see it. You may not be familiar with names like Jay Gallagher (Barry), Bianca Bradey (Brooke) or Leon Burchill (Benny), but after this movie you'll be anticipating what they might be in next.

In this 'can only happen in Australia' film they learn to harness the Zombie's breath to be used as fuel or to have a Zombie 'Whisperer' in the film. That's originality for you. This movie is a full-on blood bath (and at the time of my viewing, had not been classified as yet) so if you're sensitive to it, it's not the movie for you. It's definitely a horror thriller and bound to be 'R' rated but there are moments of comedy as well. I generally do not choose to see horror films but surprisingly for me I enjoyed it. Probably because despite its blood and gore, I didn't find it a scary movie.

Jay Gallagher portrays Barry as your typical Aussie bloke, adjusted and armoured up to deal with the zombies running rampant and he does a good job. Bianca Bradey who plays his sister Brooke is a strong actor and I was totally engaged in her award worthy, winning performance. I thought her amazing. There are also a few characters you will meet along the way that will endear themselves to you and give you a chuckle or two as there are some whose butt you'd like to kick. Definitely a film worth watching for its Aussie flavour. I give it a 7.5 out of 10.
