Get ready for Marloo Theatre's mid-year show,
Wyrd Sisters, based on the book of the same name by Terry Pratchett and adapted for the stage by Stephen Briggs. Directed by Harrison MacLennan and presented by the Darlington Theatre Players, this amateur production of
Wyrd Sisters is a tale of kings, magic, witches and apples.
I confess I wasn't a Terry Pratchett fan before this show, but I most definitely am now. The set for this show is very minimalistic and heavily relies on lights and sound to convey mood and atmosphere. Enter Discworld, a flat disc that sits on the backs of four elephants which also stand on the back of a giant turtle, and join the many wacky and interesting inhabitants of the Kingdom of Lancre, where the story takes place.
With a cast of around 20, this sets itself up to a fantastic season, filled with laughs and magic for the whole family.
Also, please note that on Wednesday 22nd, the performance will be an AUSLAN night, with interpreter Christy Filipich signing the evening for those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Tickets can be bought from www.trybooking.com/KPAM or by telephoning Gwyne on 9255 1783 during business hours.
Ticket prices are as follows: Adults- $22, Concession/ children- $20, Members- $16, Family (2ad & 2ch)- $70
Show runs from the 17th of June until the 9th of July at Marloo Theatre, Greenmount.
