Great value dining in Wynnum
Nasi Goreng is a dish I didn't expect to find on a RSL Club menu but being tipped off it was one of the 'best in Brisbane' my lunch choice was decided when I dined at the Wynnum RSL.
The cheerful waitress presented me a colourful dish of prawns & chicken breast with pan-fried jasmine rice, shallots, peas, bean, sprouts and onion, mixed with chilli paste. Crispy fried prawn crackers and a fried egg completed the dish. The spices delivered a fiery taste with the meal itself very flavoursome.
My lunch companion chose a lighter option of the baked ham salad and gave it the thumbs up as was the grilled Turkish bread we shared for starters that was accompanied with pesto, balsamic vinaigrette & aioli.
Clubs and RSL's are renowned for good wholesome meals with steak, roasts and fish always popular. These dishes definitely looked appetising judging from the plates I spied on in what was a busy lunchtime.
The Brasserie Family Restaurant at the Wynnum RSL has an extensive menu and is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner with daily specials. For a lighter option, Berrimas Coffee Shop is open from 10am until late serving cakes and coffees.
The Club is located on Tingal Road in the Wynnum Central area just a short walk from all shops and adjacent to the Wynnum Central rail station. It's a perfect refreshment spot to combine with visiting the beautiful Wynnum foreshore.
