Music, Fun and Food for Free in Wynnum on Australia Day
Free Snags Cooking on the Barbie
Live music. Free breakfast. Fresh ocean air. Sound good? Well this Australia Day you should head down to the Wynnum Esplanade at George Clayton Park to enjoy all of these things. Presented by the Rotary Club, there will be six barbecues busily cooking snags with bread, onion and BBQ sauce from 7:30-1:30.
While you wait for your sausage you can listen to the free live music coming from the bandstand from 8am until 4pm. The Local Council and the Port of Brisbane Rotary Club along with other supporters have teamed up to bring Australians of all ages entertainment which includes Stone the Crows Bush Band, the Wynnum Brass Band,Smokin Crawdads, who describe themselves as playing kicking country rock and Dennis Knight and the Black Cats, a Johnny O'Keefe Tribute and Old Time Rock'n'Roll Band. For the kids, there will be a children's show, farmyard animals, face painting, pony rides, giant slide and a jumping castle. Kids can also download the Colouring-in Competition Sheet and bring it with them to win great prizes. Other food available includes pancakes, snow-cones, good old Aussie damper and popcorn.
So bring your picnic chairs and rugs, grab your hats and sunscreen and head down to Bandstand Park on The Esplanade at Wynnum to enjoy a fabulous day of free music, free food and fun by the sea. Check the website for more information. Happy Australia day!
